About the project
Some of the special pupils at the school were inconvenienced by lack of assistive devices making them unable to fully focus on their academics.
They could not travel for school outings and be involved in sporting activities for persons living in disability.
This had limited both their academic and personal lives and could not live to their full potential.
To address this, Safaricom Foundation donated 7 wheelchairs and 2 artificial limbs at a cost of KES 550,000.
This went towards the affected pupils who had old wheelchairs and were not able to have artificial limbs.
The pupils will receive an esteem boost with the new assistive devices they will have an opportunity to use.
They can go out and mingle freely without being limited. They will be outgoing which is good for their well being. They will be more involved in extra-curricular activities like sports.
They can live to their fullest without feeling limited.
