About the project

The Challenge

Mosiro is located at the border of Narok and Kajiado counties. It is one of the driest parts of the country thus access to water is a challenge. The community had endured this situation for long which affected their lives and their animals.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation funded the development of a borehole system so as to serve the residents of Mosiro market centre and its environs with piped water for human and livestock use. It funded the installation of a submersible pumping unit, elevated plastic tanks, 10m long cattle and sheep/goat watering trough and communal watering point.

The Impact

The project has helped to provide water for the residents of Mosiro community. It has provided water to Mosiro Market and institutions such as Mosiro Primary boarding School which had no access to water.
