About the project

The Challenge

Kabaru Primary School started back in 1959 and fully registered in 2014 as a Public mixed Day primary school. It has with 210 students who had challenges getting access of information in this digital era due to lack of computers. Students had to walk long distance to neighboring schools to access computers.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation invested Ksh 926,626 towards equipping the school with 3 adequate computers and renovating the computer laboratory. In addition, the Foundation also purchased textbooks worth Ksh 70,000 that will boost learning. This ties in with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) a set of 17 goals aimed at ending poverty around the world. The fourth goal focuses on providing quality education to all.

The Impact

Pupils will be able to learn skills that will make their work easier as it will help them in their academic work including research and revision.
