About the project
The candidates in Standard 8 were congested in a class of 81. The large class posed a challenge to teachers who wanted to cater to students who needed close attention.
Such students were left behind to catch up with the rest of their classmates which had a negative impact on their overall performance.
The school saw several students transferring to other schools since they did not have a conducive environment for learning.
Safaricom Foundation constructed two furnished classrooms for KES 2.2 million. They were furnished with lockers and chairs.
The students will learn in decongested classrooms which will boost academic performances because teachers will have more time to engage with them.
The candidates will feel motivated to study in their new, furnished classrooms giving the individual students and the school an academic boost.
The developments are set to attract new students, increasing the enrolment and education opportunities in the surrounding community.
