About the project

The Challenge

Several classrooms at the school were missing lockers and chairs for pupils to sit on. Five pupils shared one locker, while some shared chairs which made it difficult to share reading materials.

In some classes pupils took notes from the floor because they did not get lockers to share with their classmates. This challenge affected more than 100 learners at the school.

The Intervention

SafarIcom Foundation handed over lockers and chairs at a cost of KES 500,000. The furniture went to the respective classrooms affected by the shortage.

The Impact

The pupils’ morale is high after getting their own lockers and chairs. Their concentration has improved because they are reading and writing in comfort. Their performances have picked up since they have more time on their books.
