About the project
Since the school was started, it did not have a science laboratory. This posed a challenge to the teaching and learning of science lessons. The demonstration of practical lessons was not possible as the school lacked the teaching materials necessary. The school’s outcome in sciences such as Physics and Chemistry was dismal due to lack of a balance between theory and practice.
Safaricom Foundation intervened by funding the construction of an equipped science lab for KES 3.8 million.
Up to 40 students can use the lab at a go. This has eased access to practical lessons and quality education in the long term. The teachers and students are benefitting from the learning resources to improve their academics in Physics and Chemistry. The school lab will be used for national exams which will boost the school’s image.
