About the project
This school began with a single room divided into classrooms and an office and later developed to become a fully functional high school registered in 2011. The members of the community together with parents worked hard over the years and were able to construct four permanent classrooms, latrines and even a 40 capacity dormitory for girls.
Safaricom Foundation through the Pamoja Scheme funded the construction and the furnishing of a library at Ksh1.2 million. Pamoja Scheme is an initiative that encourages Safaricom employees to take part in a community project of their choice. This project’s champion is Edwin Songoroh.
Education is one of the key strategic directions that the Safaricom Foundation has supported since its inception and will continue to support over the coming years. This project also fulfils the fourth Sustainable Development Goal which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
