About the project

The Challenge

Hope and Faith Centre for the Disabled is in Juja Kiambu County. It is home to 67 children. The centre had the challenge of accommodation owing to the growing number of children seeking rehabilitation in physio- therapy, vocational training and academic skills at the institution. The situation was so dire that three children would share a bed.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation invested a sum of Ksh. 1.4 million towards the construction of a 16-bed capacity boy’s dormitory in order to ease the pressure of accommodation in the school.

The Impact

The children no longer need to share a bed and this has eased the work of the caretaker in managing the children.
