About the project
This school was established 79 years ago, it however lacked basic facilities including a dining hall.
The total population of this school stands at 450 students in three streams instead of its required capacity of 320.
There was need to construct a proper dining hall that would accommodate an increasing number of students comfortably.
Safaricom Foundation is keen on improving the education standards in Kenya especially in marginalized regions. This ties in with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) that calls for quality education for all.
Safaricom Foundation funded the construction of a dining hall in this school at a cost of Kshs 3.3 million.
This new dining hall will not only reduce congestion but will also allow enough space to accommodate all the students comfortably and encourage high standards of hygiene as they now have clean settings to have their meals.
