About the project
Kakwanyang Primary School in Turkana County was in need of classrooms for their students to replace the semi-permanent structures that could not withstand the adverse effects of the weather. This caused students to miss their classes whenever there were extreme weather conditions.
This school received a classroom worth Ksh 1.3 million through the Know and Grow Program, an initiative by Safaricom Foundation in partnership with Coca-Cola Company and The Tinga Tinga Tales Foundation.
The students are now well sheltered against harsh weather conditions when learning is taking place. They do not miss their classes during such periods. They can now pursue their education and shape their future.
