About the project

The Challenge

People could afford to put food on the table for their families due to the harsh economic situation brought about by COVID-19. In particular, children were suffering because with schools being shut they could not access the meals provided there. Persons living with HIV/AIDS who were supported by the group were vulnerable because they lacked enough food.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation donated food hampers at a cost of KES 200,000. The food hampers included flour, rice, cooking oil, milk and cereals.

The Impact

The residents have enough supply of food for their families reducing the risk of hunger among children and the vulnerable persons living with HIV/AIDS.
