About the project

The Challenge

The school lacked regular supply of water as it is situated in a semi-arid area. During the dry season learners were forced to fetch water from the nearby open well, risking their lives.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative set up a 10,000-liter water tank worth KES 175,000.

The Impact

The school is having a steady supply of water as it is pumped from the well to the tank using a machine. Students can now utilize their school time for studying and not fetching water.
