About the project
In October 2007, Enablis launched its first East African office in Nairobi, Kenya. Since then more than 250 members have been accredited across East Africa. The organization focuses on driving measurable social and economic development by supporting entrepreneurs in the developing world. In order to establish a platform to support new innovative ideas Enablis required sponsorship to finance the programme.
The Safaricom Foundation contributed Kshs. 3 million and Kshs. 4 million in 2011, and 2012 respectively for the Enablis Entrepreneurial Network Business Launchpad Competition. This was in support of their mission to seek entrepreneurs with the most potential and with the best innovative ideas in Africa.
This initiative has endeavored to tackle the most pressing social problems facing Africa and the world. Supporting the concept of social entrepreneurship is helping to nurture and support individuals in their quest for economic and social change in Africa. Furthermore, it has gone a long way to enhance economic development and job creation.
