About the project

The Challenge

The health Centre lacked adequate maternity equipment which made women travel all the way to Kaptatet or Kericho to get specialized maternal health services. The maternity wing had spring beds which were outdated and uncomfortable for the expectant mothers. Their delivery set was also worn out due to use of chemical sterilization.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation through its Ndoto Zetu initiative has equipped the maternity wing at a cost of KES 250,000.

The Impact

Reduction in maternal and new born infections and increased visits of expectant mothers to the maternal wing due to improved quality of services.
