About the project
The dispensary was missing some crucial equipment to facilitate testing and diagnosis of TB among HIV/AIDS patients and more so make their laboratory more functional. Referral was their only solution however; other facilities were kilometres away which posed a risk of complications and advancement of the condition.
Safaricom Foundation’s Pamoja Scheme handed over medical equipment at a cost of KES 1 Million. The equipment comprised of CX Microscope, lab stools, refrigerator, centrifuge, doppler and delivery bed.
The microscope has enabled sample testing for TB among HIV/AIDS patients and facilitated diagnosis and treatment. The lab is well equipped and there is no need to conduct hospital referrals.
