#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

The youth were lacking the accessories required to make briquettes. The productivity was low and few youth gained employment because of the limitations of resources.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated a carbonizer, dryer and crusher at a cost of KES 300, 000

The Impact

More youth are employed as a result of the accessories donated. This is because with high productivity, more youth are collecting raw materials which are fed into the carbonizer and crusher. The youth in the group are self-sufficient.
