About the project

The Challenge

The women had offered to do training for the youths in the community but they were set back due to financial constraints. They also had few machines that were unable to meet clients’ demands in terms of timely delivery. Expansion of their businesses also seemed impossible as they were not guaranteed of adequate funding.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated 5 sewing machines at a cost of KES 100,000.

The Impact

With the steady flow of income, the women can now expand their businesses hence the growth of the group. The group is now able to meet clients’ demands as they have access to adequate sewing machines.
