#EconomicEmpowerment

About the project

The Challenge

Hosting 400 members was a hustle considering they had no structures to hold the meetings. They would gather around riverbanks with risks of falling. Sit on grass or bushes that were near sewage. Sometimes they would spend KES 5,000 per day to rent a place.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu donated tents and chairs at a cost of KES 150,000.

The Impact

The group can conduct meetings without spending money to rent a place hence saving the money to venture into other income generating activities.
