About the project

The Challenge

There was lack of sustainable water sources for the school and the community especially now that there have been no rains. It is a challenge to the students who are currently in school as they are unable to observe the Covid-19 health recommendations to wash hands. However, the school was able to dig a bore hole, but they lack a water pump.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative donated a water tank at a cost of KES 175,000.

The Impact

The tank is facilitating water harvesting to sustain the school even when there is no rain. There is safe water for drinking, cleaning the school and most important, washing hands.
