The Safaricom Foundation has economically empowered at least 770,000 people through providing them with business skills that lead to sustainable income generating projects/businesses. The Foundation is dedicated towards reducing the high unemployment rates through working with its partners to:

• Establish macro and small scale social enterprises that have social impact and create jobs;

• Increase access to entrepreneurship education and financial literacy for young people.

Goal number one under the SDGs looks at ending poverty in all its forms everywhere. This is also a key objective for Kenya’s economic blueprint- Vision 2030 and goal on economic empowerment.
